Save the Date: Responding to demands for environmental compliance: the role of civic evidence

ENFORCE Your Knowledge Webinar | 24 November 2026 | 12:00–13:00 CET | Online
People report environmental incidents but often hear nothing back. At the same time, public authorities may struggle to use citizen-generated evidence within established monitoring, decision-making and compliance procedures.
How can civic evidence help bridge this gap?
Join the next ENFORCE Your Knowledge webinar on Tuesday, 24 November 2026, for a discussion on how citizen and community-generated evidence can contribute to environmental monitoring and compliance.
The webinar will bring together perspectives from European research, citizen science and regional environmental administration to explore what makes civic evidence credible and usable for public authorities, how it can complement institutional monitoring, and what procedural or legal barriers may prevent it from informing environmental decisions.
The discussion will also consider an important question: when citizens provide evidence of possible environmental non-compliance, how should authorities respond — and how can they provide meaningful feedback to the people and communities who contributed it?
