New Factsheet Exploring the Power of Earth Observation in ENFORCE

Earth Observation (EO) is transforming how we understand and protect our planet. By collecting and analysing data from satellites, drones, aircraft, and ground sensors, EO provides a clearer picture of the Earth’s systems — from air quality and land use to oceans, forests, and cities.

Within ENFORCE, EO plays a key role in strengthening environmental compliance. The project promotes the use of open EO data, such as that provided by the Copernicus Programme, to help authorities and stakeholders make informed, evidence-based decisions for a greener and more accountable Europe.

The new ENFORCE Factsheet on Earth Observation highlights how EO supports environmental monitoring, risk management, and policymaking — and how it connects to Europe’s wider data ecosystem through initiatives like GEOSS and Copernicus. It also introduces the project’s efforts to make EO data more usable and trustworthy in regulatory contexts.
