ENFORCE Contributes to AgroTech Hub Cluster Webinar on Europe’s Next-Generation Agri-Data Ecosystem

The AgroTech Hub Cluster Webinar titled “From Data to Decisions: Building Europe’s Next-Generation Agri-Data Ecosystem” successfully concluded, bringing together researchers, innovators, and policy experts to discuss how data, technology, and governance frameworks can support more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems across Europe.
The event attracted strong interest from the research, innovation, and agricultural communities. Discussions focused on how emerging data infrastructures, digital tools, and collaborative platforms can improve decision-making in agriculture while supporting environmental sustainability.
Representing ENFORCE, Dr. Anna Aseeva, Policy and Sustainability Expert at Digital for Planet, contributed to the discussion by presenting the policy dimension of the project.
In her talk, “Closing the Compliance Gap,” Dr. Aseeva explored how Citizen Science can be operationalised as a legally admissible mechanism for environmental evidence gathering and environmental compliance assurance. Her presentation examined the policy relevance of this approach and highlighted practical examples demonstrating how citizen-generated data can support monitoring and enforcement processes.
The talk also addressed the institutional and technical infrastructure required to enable this model, including mechanisms for data validation, governance frameworks, and integration with existing regulatory systems. These elements are essential to ensure that citizen-generated environmental data can effectively contribute to compliance and environmental protection efforts.
The webinar provided an important platform for exchanging perspectives on the future of agri-data ecosystems in Europe, emphasising the role of interdisciplinary collaboration between technology developers, policymakers, and the agricultural sector.
